The Founder of the Trust Dr. Nalla G. Palaniswami, M.D. a Physician specialized in Endocrinology and the Managing Trustee Dr. Thavamani D. Palaniswami, a Pediatrician and Adolescent Care specialist. Their vast exposure and rich experience in the field of Health care in India and Abroad conceived the idea of establishing educational institutions on par with the developed countries. The world class infrastructural, instructional facilities, meticulous planning, continuous guidance and constant encouragement of our Chairpersons have evolved the Trust and its associated institutions as one of the reputed group in the state.
The KMCH College of Occupational Therapy, Coimbatore, established by the Kovai Medical Center Research and Educational Trust, Coimbatore in the year 1995. The College has been recognized by the Government of Tamil Nadu and affiliated to the Tamil Nadu Dr. M.G.R. Medical University, Chennai.
The KMCH College of Occupational therapy is one of the comprehensive teaching institution attached with the Kovai Medical Center and Hospital, Coimbatore – a 1300 bedded multi disciplinary super specialty hospital. The department of Occupational Therapy and rehabilitation medicine in the KMCH is one of the well organized and professionally designed clinical setup to carry out all kinds of therapy and training in South India. The institute has well planned infrastructure to carry out professional training from preclinical to Post Graduate and Research level programmes. The preclinical laboratories, specialty laboratories, IT infrastructure and Library resources are on par with the best centers in the country in the field of Occupational Therapy.
The institute has rendered an excellent service to the ill clients and developed normal living conditions for many people for past three decades. It is continuing its endeavors to support many pediatric and adult clients and put them into functioning.
